Thanksgiving break

Well, Thanksgiving break is almost over :( after 9 days of no school, it's gonna be a challenge getting up at 6 am tomorrow. At least there's only 3 and a half weeks left of this semester, and then there's Christmas break. :)

My thanksgiving was pretty average, we didn't go anywhere, just stayed home and ate turkey. And i've been sick. All week. My break, and i'm sick the whole time. Fun.

On top of that, i've had studying to do all week. ACT studying...yeah.

Yep. ACT. December 8th. Less than two weeks. I'm scared. Everyone says i'll do fine but i'm nervous. >.<

You may be thinking..."wait, she's a freshman, why is she nervous about ACT?"

Well my friends, i'm applying to an advanced high school, called LSMSA. Yeahhhh, fancy university name. It's almost like college, the classes are college level, but the students are high school age. It's even on a college campus, NSU's campus. Big and scary stuff.

Well, they expect the score to be in around the 20's. I'm hoping for a 23 at least, but i'll be happy with just a 20 or 21.

I really want to get in this school...but on another note, i'll miss my school. I'll miss a lot of people, but hey, i'll meet new ones too.

Either way, i'm gonna be happy. Cause i know God has a plan for me, and everything will go as planned.
I'm just so dang anxious. >.<

Have fun going back to school y'all,

I made friends with the New Kid

So I'm single now ;P

I needed someone to sit with at lunch, so I sat with the friends I used to sit with at the beginning of school. There was a new guy at the table. I sat there for a while, wanting to ask him what his name was, but eventually he introduced himself for me. :)
He was like, "Hi, I'm Jordan" I said "Hey, I'm Lindsay." and my friend Jacob said, "No, her name is Crazy" Lol, I irritate Jacob, I think. He's really shy, so I say random stupid things to him and always try to get him to talk to me. Anyway, me and Jordan were talking for pretty much all of lunch. It turns out we had a lot in common. Like, a LOT. It was crazy. A little before the bell rang, he said, "you know, I really feel a connection between us" I said "Aw I felt it too" And I really did. I looked him in the eyes and it was like our souls reached out and connected.  He said, "You know, maybe someday, we could try something..." I said, "like what?" He said, "Maybe...dinner or something? I want to get to know you better" I think I might take him up on that eventually.

I don't know if I like like him, but I definitely found me a new guy to hang out with :)
What was crazy is that me and my ex just broke up today, and I meet a new guy like 3 hours later.

God, you are crazy. I'll never understand your plans but I know you have them.

I'll tell you what, I'm glad that I'm not the one in control of my life.

So anyway, When the bell rang, Jordan didn't know where the trash cans were, so I took his tray and threw it away for him. He was like, "That is the man's job!" And I said, "well if you really want to be a man, you can carry my backpack for me" And he actually took it and carried it for me lol. I was surprised. I was like "You're really gonna do it? I was kidding!" And he was like "this is what gentlemen do for ladies"

Aw :) I have a new friend. I'm sitting with him at lunch tomorrow for sure :)

My week :)

My week...was great! It went by so dang fast. Yesterday it felt like it was Tuesday instead of Friday. What made it go by so fast? Maybe cause it was such a good week :) To start my week, over the weekend, a guy I've had a crush on for a while said he liked me, and we started going out. Yay! ^_^ So on Monday, it was freezing cold outside, and when I first saw him, I ran up to hug him, and he hugged me so so tight. I died of happiness right then. I spent as much time as I could with him all week, that's probably why it went by so fast. I had a really really easy week in all my classes too. In algebra, we barely did anything all week, the lessons were too easy, on Tuesday we played battleship with coordinate plane graphs lol. And we got to pick our partners, my bf sits directly across from me, guess who I picked? ;)

In theatre we just had to define words and stuff most of the week, and Thursday and Friday, we just watched a movie.

PE was kind of tough though, we played basketball, which I am sooooo awful at haha. And Thursday we had to do a mile test. I did mine in 10 mins. 38 sec.Which I'm kinda disappointed in, but I was the second one to finish.

Geography was just average, we did the same stuff we normally do. Label maps, write notes, stuff like that. O, we did have to write our names in Cyrillic, which is the written language of Russia. It was pretty fun :)
My bf has the same geography class that I have, but he has it 4th block and I have it 1st, so the day after we wrote our names, when I saw him in second block, he showed me that he wrote my Cyrillic name on his arm. Awwz :)

Okay, I'm gonna quit now or else I'm just gonna go on and on and on about my boyfriend lol.

Later, y'all.

Saturday :D

Finally the weekend! I'm so glad. school is so tiring. I had an algebra test yesterday, I think I did okay :/
When I'm doing classwork or homework, I can always get everything right. But when I take tests, I always forget how to do things. Bleh. Whatever.

School was kinda boring yesterday. Fridays are always boring cause the teachers are obviously ready for the weekend, and they give you an hour to do something that takes 20 minutes, just so they can be lazy :P
We barely did anything in Geography, only did a test in algebra, and it took me like a half hour, so I had an hour to just do nothing, in PE it was raining so we didn't do much. And Fridays in PE always suck cause we have free days, which mostly consist of sitting on the bleachers doing nothing after we run the track. And in theatre, we didn't do much, class was cut short cause we had a pep rally. We won the game :D 42-27 I didn't actually go to the game though cause it was freeeeeeezing yesterday. And I was wearing a skirt at school cause I only have one pair of uniform pants, and it's been warm all week so I had NO idea it would be cold. I love the cold though, it gives me an excuse to hug the guy I like ;D
Louisiana winters happen like this every year, it's 75 degrees out one day, and then the next, BAM. it's in the 40's and stays like that for a couple months. The seasons are crazy too, it's like the hotter the summer is, the colder the winter will be. This winter may not be that cold cause in the summer, it only got above 100 a
couple times. It stayed in the 90's mostly.

I hope we get snow this winter :D Snow is somewhat rare, so I love when we actually get it.

I have no homework! Yayyyyy :D I thought I was gonna have homework a lot, but surprisingly, I hardly ever do. The only class I ever really have homework in is algebra, and I usually finish it in class. I only have to do it at home maybe twice a week. And this week I didn't have any. School is so much easier than I thought it would be. I make A's and I don't ever study. I only study when we have time in class.

Study tip:

The one thing I do put extra effort into is my algebra vocab test. Every chapter, we have a test on the vocabulary words. It's usually 18-20 words or so. Every time we have them, I write the definitions down on paper in rainbow ordered marker. Seriously. Rainbow. It works. I NEVER write them all just in pencil. I take about 45 minutes of my time at home to write them all in marker in the colors and order of the rainbow.  People think I'm crazy and childish for doing this, but when you're studying the words, it somehow makes it a million times easier to remember them.

I'll start from the beginning...

Well hi, if you're interested on a former homeschooler's view on public school, I think you've come to the right place. I was homeschooled my entire life, up until about 9 weeks ago, when I started public school. I'm in the 9th grade, and let me tell you, high school's not what I expected.

The last days of summer, I was sooooo excited, I couldn't wait for school to start, I was anxious to start my new journey. I've always been one to make changes, and try new things, and this is definitely a BIG change. The day before school, I got really anxious. What if nobody liked me? What if everyone was smarter than me? What if I was just a joke? I was worrying about things that would obviously never happen. I also had no idea what to expect from school I'd never been before, I had no idea what it was like. What did I have to base it off of? TV? I'll tell you right now, high school is nothing like it is in TV and movies. The only thing Hollywood has right about high school is how fast rumors and drama spread. Seriously, if you tell one person something, in 30 minutes, half the school knows. And usually it gets twisted around. That's one of the things I don't like. :P

Well, when I wasn't worrying about people not liking me, I somehow had this crazy idea that I was gonna be a cool girl, with tons of friends and popularity. Ha. Way wrong. My first couple weeks of school were extremely awkward. I didn't know anybody. I was really quiet cause I didn't want people to not like me. So yeah, lol. I just focused on my schoolwork, and talked to people when they would come up to me. For a while though,it really did seem like nobody liked me. The first couple weeks sucked. I was getting good grades, I'm a straight A student, but I was really awkward.

As I got into the 4th and 5th week of school, I was really warmed up to everybody, and I had some friends. Not super popular, but I had people to hang out with at lunch, at least. This guy that sat directly next to me in algebra class, I used to hate cause he was obnoxious and immature sometimes, but now we're friends, and I might kinda like him lol, but that's a different topic. :P

I think it was around a few weeks ago, a little drama started happening. I was living the sorta happy single life, no bf, no worries. But guys started to pay attention to me... A few weeks ago, a guy asked me out, and I said yes. My first boyfriend in almost 10 months, I was pretty happy. No, really happy. He treated me like I was the most important person to him, and he acted like he really really really liked me. And I really really really liked him. I sill do... People said we were the sweetest, cutest couple ever. And I mean, almost everyone loved us together. Of course there were the jealous people who started rumors, but he didn't believe the ones about me, and I didn't believe the ones about him. We were perfect. Well, except for a little complication that happened too soon. Basically, he broke up with me just hours before homecoming, and was making out with another girl at the dance. Sooo yeah, I cried for the majority of my first homecoming. Everyone wanted to beat my ex up lol.

I did NOT want to go to school the next Monday, cause i knew people would be talking, and asking stuff, and asuming stuff. And I didn't want to face him cause I knew just looking at him would make me cry. 1st block was tough, I was trying SO HARD not to cry, but people could tell I was upset, even the teacher. my teacher let me and two of my friends go to the bathroom to talk cause he knew I needed a little fresh bathroom air i guess lol. My friends gave me a good pep talk, they told me that it's not even my loss, it's his, and that I'm a beautiful, smart, sweet, great girl who will be able to do a lot with my life. I felt a little better. I didn't see my ex at all that day, but I saw him the next day in the morning. When he saw me, he said, "Hey Lindsay, I really need to talk to you later." I wanted to punch him out so bad, but I'm just not that kind of person. I just stood there, and said with no emotion, "Fine." So, he found me at lunch and pulled me off into somewhere private. Now, it's not like this was his first attempt at apologizing. He'd sent me texts, emails, saying he was so sorry. Whatever. That day when he decided to apologize in person, it was so hard not to just fall into his arms and kiss him. I missed him so freaking much. And he sounded so sincere, but I forced myself not to believe him. He was like, "I know I hurt you real bad, and I felt terrible that whole night, I still feel terrible. The last thing I ever wanted was to make you cry. I just want you to know, I still love you, and I'm really sorry. Once I learn how to be mature, I'd be so lucky to have you back. Can you at least forgive me?" The whole time he said this, I just stood there, arms crossed, no expression, just looking in his eyes and listening. I wanted to believe him so bad. So i said, very blankly, "Fine." I won't ever forget how he hurt me, but Jesus says to forgive so I forgave. We all make mistakes. We  hugged for what I wish was longer, but hated at the same time. I still feel like that about him. I love him but hate him at the same time.

Okay.....This just turned into a little rant about my ex instead of about school lol...sorry, I guess i just had to get it out. I have many more boyfriend stories, but I'm gonna post about school more later.
